We were going to make repairs in our apartment for a long time, but still there was no time for time or money. This time, we came up to the solution of this issue thoroughly, starting with the hall. The ceilings were leveled with drywall sheets, scattered and painted (these works were performed by hired construction workers), and a wide ceiling skirting board glued along the perimeter of the room. Then we went to the store for wallpaper.
The usual paper wallpapers (the cheapest option) were excluded from the purchase list immediately, as they required high -quality wall alignment. Beautiful vinyl wallpapers were too expensive for us. On the hint of sellers, we stopped our attention on non -woven wallpaper, a width of a little more than 1 meter and having a texture surface. It remained only to choose their coloring.
Wallpaper with a large clear pattern required fitting. And since the length of the roll was as many as 10 meters, when combining the picture, too much overrun of the material was too large. Therefore, we began to choose only from spotted-wrapped options. Dark blue and red colors would have attracted too much to the walls of the room, but we just needed a background for furniture. Stopped at a light blue shade (at the same time looking at the store in a rich blue curtains). Together with the wallpaper we bought a special glue and a rubber roller. When gluing such wallpapers, the glue should be applied only to the wall, then the cut fragment of the wallpaper (along the length is slightly larger than the height of the room) should be applied from top to bottom, smoothing the roller.
The wallpaper glued the joint in the joint, making a overlap only in the corners (with a “vision” for one side of a couple of centimeters). The seams after drying are practically not visible even from a short distance. And since you do not need to spread the wallpaper themselves with glue, even one person can stick them. We glued together, applying glue first from the ceiling to the middle of the wall, and then (after gluing the upper part of the panel) to the floor. The lower edge of the wallpaper was carefully cut with a sharp knife, putting a metal “level” to the wall.
